“This was the second time this year that we stayed at the Essenhaus. Room was clean and comfortable and quiet! Check-in was fast and the staff here is friendly and helpful! We enjoyed the hot breakfast but wish they had granola to go along with the yogurt. We highly recommend The Essenhaus!”

“When I came into the town of Shipshewana at 3ish I noticed that the traffic signals was not working and found out before checking in that there was no electricity in the entire town because of a storm overnight. “They no longer have a hot tub. And I was charged two dollars when I had paid my reservation in full prior to staying there. When I inquired, they said it was a housekeeping charge. That is just wrong and I will not stay there anymore, They did not disclose their hidden charge.”

“The staff was absolutely ridiculous. There was a power outage and I was trying to ask questions about how to get refunded and the front desk person was extremely rude and refused to answer any questions. I will never stay here. Also can’t get ahold of the company to get my refund.”

“The room was clean and the lady at the front desk was helpful the first night. There was rarely someone at the front desk, tho. However, the room had some maintenence issues. There was tiling in the bathroom that was very sloppily repaired; there was a big patch of peeled/missing paint on the walls; the interior of the closet was missing a panel or mirror or something. There was no hair dryer. I know the power outage was not your fault, but we did not get breakfast and that was a bummer.”
